Announcers

I am watching the Women's College World Series and one of the announcers asked the following question. The announcer interviewed the Washington head coach and asked "How do you plan on winning tonight's game??" Uh besides the obvious of scoring more runs than the other team?? Where do these announcers come up with these questions that they ask the head coaches and or players. You wonder if they think before asking questions. This has been one of my pet peeves for any sport I watch. You would think that these announcers had schooling on how to ask questions that make sense without looking dumb. I wonder if my brother agrees on this topic??

The Hunt Continues

Here is what happens when a squirrel comes into a yard where a dog lives. I decided to give the squirrel a head start and then let Ginger out due to what happened the last time a squirrel came into the yard. Here is the squirrel up the side of the house scared. Now for a rest after all of the hard work of keeping the backyard safe and secure.

Bath Time

After our house was cleaned I gave Ginger a bath and in return she gave me a bath when she shook her wet fur all over the place. She doesn't like the hair dryer one bit but I needed to get her fur dried. Since having a bath she hasn't itched or bitten herself since the bath. She is soft and stressed out so I gave her several treats after wards. Before the bath she scared the squirrel out of the backyard and then stayed to make sure it didn't come back into the yard.

Babysitting

My best friend asked me if I could watch her girls while she went out to dinner and her husband had youth group. The girls have been wanting to play with ginger ever since they saw a picture of her. Here are the three girls with the dog (ginger actually sat there so that I could take a picture). These are the girls that I pick up every Wednesday from school. The one on the left is 4; the one to the right of Ginger is 5; and the one next to her is 8.

Dog Sitting

This week I am dog sitting for a couple in our neighborhood. The dog is a poodle about the size of Ginger. I brought the poodle named Pedro over to play with Ginger while I had a bible study with my best friend. the two of them chased each other around the dining room table and each pinned the other several times. They are now under the table resting from all the running they have done this morning. It has been raining all week that I was not able to put them in the backyard; maybe tomorrow.

A Season to Remember

Most of you know that I follow women's basketball just as much as the men's basketball. Well this year has been a season to remember in women's basketball with the UConn huskies having a perfect season for the second time. The last time this happened was in 2002, Tennessee's head coach having a 1,000 wins, and NC State losing a good coach to a life long battle of cancer half way through the season.

weather

So today I went and picked up my best friend's girls up from school. As I was going to the school to pick them up I heard the weather forecast for tomorrow. I heard that a cold front is to come in tomorrow morning and the high for tomorrow will only be in the 70's. I think of cold fronts as cold temperatures and windy. Cold front means highs in the 50's maybe the 60's but not upper 70's. I wonder if my brother's family is ready to come south for only a visit and then move down here to get away from the snowy weather that starts in November and goes until April sometimes May.

Animal Crossing

This past Monday I went into Austin to help my sister with the baby since she wasn't feeling well. My sister was unable to pick up the baby so I had to pick her up from daycare and take care of her while she saw the doctor. On my way home I turned onto our street and had to stop first by the second hole bc of three frogs crossing the street, and then further on down there were deer crossing by the third hole.

No Wild Animals but Wild Flowers

I was at grandma's house yesterday and her wild flowers are coming up. She doesn't see any wild animals but she does get the wild flowers; her next door neighbor to the left of her has a bunch of blue bonnets. Here are some pictures of her wild flowers in her backyard.

Spring Break

My sister decided that she wanted to go out of town for spring break. So her, the husband, their daughter, my parents, and my cousins headed to the mountains. Ginger and I stayed home only because the cabins don't allow dogs and someone aught to keep an eye on grandma. Today I looked up on google maps where exactly the city Pigeon Forge and one of the steps is to Turn right at The Great Smoky Mountains. You know when you are in Tennessee is when your directions are given by mountains. Tonight I am going over to grandma's to fix dinner and watch Dancing with the Stars, I guess I will take Ginger with me since she loves grandma so much.

6 months old

My baby nephew turned six months old on Sunday and has already had his first surgery. He also received his first dosage of morphine to help with the pain he was in. He was released the same day he had surgery on the 2nd. He is such a cutie and is always a happy little baby. Here is a picture of him the evening after his surgery.

Not You Too

Over Valentine's weekend dad left to go to Chicago for business and mom left to go to DC. Ginger got nervous when dad pulled out the suitcase and then got upset when dad left and Ginger couldn't go along. On that Monday mom pulled out her suitcase to pack and Ginger got nervous so she decided to jump into mom's lap while she was on the computer. While Ginger and I were out for a walk mom left and Ginger started following me around hoping that I wouldn't leave her too. Here is a picture of Ginger in mom's lap and one of her keeping an eye on me.

Steroids VS Baseball

So if you are a sports fanatic like I am, you have probably heard about steroids and baseball. In my opinion is that these pro baseball players use steroids should not be allowed to play. According to one person who wrote in to SC (sports center) said that there are too many cheaters playing baseball. Lying to Congressional should be automatic dismissal of the game and put in jail in my opinion; saying that you didn't use steroids then turn around later and saying you did, how can anyone believe what you say. I don't watch much baseball but if you use steroids to get ahead how good are you without help. Students coming out of college trying to make it MLB with good talent verses the ones that use steroids; the ones that use steroids should be dismissed and and not allowed in the Hall of Fame. There should be surprised drug test and if they test positive they should be suspended and not be allowed to travel with the team. I have lost respect for baseball because of all of this that is going on.

1000 Wins

That's right tonight Pat Summit of the Woman's Lady Vols went for career win number 1,000. It happened at home against the Georgia bull dogs. The lady Vols won by 30 wins giving Pat Summit something no other coach in NCAA division one basketball has ever done. I started watching the Lady Vols when one of my mom's co-worker turned me on to the team and this was when Candace Parker was attending school. Candace Parker has gone to play in the WNBA and set a rookie season record with number of points scored in one season. Quite a few players who played under Summit have gone to play in the WNBA or has become a broadcaster. Pat Summit has also won several final 4 games including back to back National Title wins in 2007 and 2008.

Here are some pics of what my youngest nieces are up to lately. The first one is my niece up north learning the drums from an X-box 360 game and the bottom one is the one here in Austin cooking with mom and dad.

Brrrrrr

After Christmas the west's decided to head north for a visit. It was very cold but luckily no snow so that was good. Everyone was good and we were very happy to see them and the kids are growing more and more everyday. This was the first time that I have seen my baby nephew since he was born boy is he a cutie. He laughs a lot and is starting to become mobile by moving in 90 degree angles. He also flares his arms and legs a lot. He has been able to roll over onto his tummy but he doesn't like being on his tummy and gets very mad. Here is a pic of me with my baby nephew and one of my youngest niece and a pic of my baby nephew with my oldest niece. Ginger was very well behaved and would leave about a foot between her and the baby. All of the kids doted on Ginger and was always wanting to play with her which she loved. She didn't mind the cold weather and we decided not to have her cut prior to going up north so that she would not be cold. She is in desperate need of a cut though which will happen on Friday.
